CP Pumpen AG Efficient IT Sourcing for Long-Term Security
Founded in 1948 as a small manufacturing business, CP Pumpen AG has developed into an internationally active Swiss pump manufacturer. The company stands for the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation. In addition to its headquarters in Zofingen, CP Pumpen operates subsidiaries in Germany, France, and Thailand to support its global sales activities.
Thanks to Metagon’s structured analysis and professional guidance, we were able to strategically realign our IT and create a sustainable solution for the future.
Challenge
CP Pumpen’s IT infrastructure was externally managed and largely based on on-premises systems. Due to personnel changes and uncertainties regarding the existing IT provider, CP Pumpen conducted a comprehensive analysis of its IT setup. The objective was to assess risks, evaluate reliable long-term IT partners, and introduce Microsoft 365 as well as modern home office solutions. Metagon was commissioned to develop a sustainable IT strategy and to conduct an IT sourcing evaluation.
Solution
Metagon supported CP Pumpen throughout the IT sourcing evaluation process. First, an emergency and contingency concept was developed to assess risks associated with the existing provider. This was followed by a detailed analysis of the IT environment, applications, and cost structures to identify optimization potential. Based on these insights, a strategic solution design was created to serve as a decision-making foundation for selecting a new IT partner.
The IT sourcing target model defined clear requirements and compared various sourcing models in terms of flexibility, cost efficiency, and future viability. After preparing the request for proposal (RFP) documents, potential providers were evaluated, bids were obtained and compared. Metagon also supported the contract negotiations and the initiation of the implementation project.
Results
CP Pumpen modernized its entire IT landscape and established a long-term IT sourcing strategy. The emergency concepts significantly reduced IT risks, particularly during the transition phase, while the new IT strategy laid a solid foundation for future digitalization initiatives.
