Candrian Catering Reducing Complexity with a New ERP and Laying the Foundation for Digitalisation

In 2015, Candrian defined its ICT Strategy 2020 with the goal of modernising the IT infrastructure and driving digitalisation forward. The internal IT team successfully implemented the first milestones of this strategy. However, when it came to replacing the outdated ERP system and consolidating the application landscape, they lacked the necessary experience. This is where Candrian brought in Metagon and tasked them with evaluating a suitable ERP application landscape.

In the first step, the target architecture for the applications was developed in joint workshops. The focus was on reducing the 13 business applications. A central ERP solution was needed that could meet the functional requirements for finance, human resources management, and time tracking. Data migration from the existing solution had to be possible, as well as seamless integration with the inventory management and point-of-sale systems. Metagon transformed these requirements into a standardised tender, solicited offers, and evaluated them. The comparability of the offers was crucial in selecting the implementation partner and the solution.

After selecting the partner, contracts were negotiated by Metagon, and implementation began simultaneously. Today, Abacus is the central ERP system at Candrian and forms the foundation for further digitalisation projects. Candrian Catering had a clear IT strategy and sought an experienced partner to assist with the search for an ERP system. With Metagon, the application architecture was defined, the tender was created, and finally, Abacus was selected as the solution and successfully implemented.
