Swiss Finance & Property Group (SFP) Evaluation of a Standardized Portfolio Management System

The demands of internal and external stakeholders on the current Portfolio Management System (PMS) have increased. The system needs to keep pace with new market requirements and be continually developed. Currently, all risks and development costs are borne by SFP. For this reason, SFP wanted to assess whether an established standard solution on the market could better and more sustainably meet its requirements. SFP commissioned Metagon to carry out an evaluation for a new PMS.

In an initial workshop with SFP, the goal was to understand the pain points of the current PMS solution and define the objectives of the evaluation. Functional and technical requirements for the PMS were then defined. To determine the target architecture for the new PMS, a prior analysis of the surrounding systems, data formats, and interfaces was necessary. Based on these findings, various PMS providers were analyzed. This resulted in a shortlist of potential providers to be considered in the evaluation. Instead of a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP), PMS providers were evaluated based on aspects such as user experience, functionality, location, and costs. The selected providers were invited to present their PMS solutions and then fill out a questionnaire and cost sheet. Metagon evaluated the submissions and presented the information to SFP as a basis for decision-making.

With a careful and transparent approach, Metagon ensured that the target architecture and SFP's requirements for the PMS solution were always the focal point. Metagon carried out the evaluation process to the full satisfaction of SFP.
